Gennady Golovkin (nicknamed GGG) was born on April 8, 1982 in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. He is a Kazakh boxer, current middleweight world champion, and silver medalist at the 2004 Olympic Games. Moreover, Golovkin is a Master of the Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and seven times champion of the battle of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

However some fighters, like Matthew Macklin, were skeptical of his abilities and though his opponents were too easy. On June 29th, Golovkin fought Macklin and was filmed by US cable network HBO on their Boxing After Dark series. They even shot a documentary about Kazakh boxer Golovkin prior to the fight. After the fight, the world was in shock and couldn’t believe this Kazakh could take down a “tough” opponent in three rounds.
